If you or someone you know has been touched by Alzheimer's or a similar disease please go to :

I recently watched this documentary and was enthraled by the lives this disease has touched. My father may or may not have been affected by this disease or a similar proponent and it was healing and devastating at the same time. It's sometimes easier to turn your head and try to forget the person on the corner, or the family member suffering in silence, I just wanted to include this link to give some insight to those currently being affected. I'm forever changed by the path life has taken me and to see first hand and subsequently through this documentary the way family members are affected, and it has changed me substantially. To have the perserverance some of these families have when all hope seems lost is astonishing to me. How easy to turn and walk away from the person who no longer knows of your existence! How much harder is it to stay and weather the storm? To quote a movie (sorry, they say it best).
"Daddy, come home, Momma doesn't remember us anymore"
"This is my home now, she may not remember me, but I still remember WHO SHE IS"

My mind's in the toilet
So, I live with three "boys". My husband and two little boys. I understand that the toilet seat should be left down, no toilet is attractive no matter the state of the lid. That being said, I believe I am outnumbered, 3 to 1 in this house. So I think it is entirely fair to instruct the rule that I be the one to put the seat UP after I use it instead of the opposite! Now, before you disagree let me propose this one question to you....Have you ever had the opportunity (girls I'm talking to you) of sitting on a toilet seat after your 5 year old has "used it"? Now, I grew up with 2 brothers and on many miscassions (that's my new word for Occasion, only with a sorry outcome-yes, I add words to the English language), of getting up in the middle of the night only to be met by an unfortunate sensation. I shall not get into the specifics but it's not pleasant! Therefore, if I leave the seat up, I'm hoping for a dry place to land when it's my turn. Just a thought. Thought I'd share, I know you're glad I did...

Not to get preachy but...I'm gonna...
I was reminded in a sermon recently to live with Jesus. Hard to practice, but good to be reminded! I liked how he said "If you live with Jesus you'll never be lost." Simple. Shouldn't be rocket science but it feels like it sometimes. Then he went on to say (paraphrased) how "it might be difficult for you to get to Jesus. However, Jesus will find you wherever you are. He'll drag you out of that bottle, that substance abuse, your doubt, your inadequacies, etc. Whatever darkness you're in, He can find you, He's the light after all! He can get to you, just raise up your hand and let him pull you out." So today, I'm raising my hand. I want to be saved from getting in the way of myself. "To live with Jesus", what a great place to be!
And I stole this from someone but don't know who:
The next time you feel like GOD can't use you, just remember...
Noah was a drunk, Abraham was too old, Isaac was a daydreamer , Jacob
was a liar, Leah was ugly, Joseph was abused, Moses had a stuttering
problem, Gideon was afraid, Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer,
Rahab was a prostitute, Jeremiah and Timothy were too young, David had
an affair and was a murderer, Elijah was suicidal, Jonah ran from God,
Naomi was a widow, Jobe went bankrupt, John the Baptist ate bugs,
Peter denied Christ, The Disciples fell asleep while He prayed, Martha
worried about everything, the Samaritan woman was divorced, more than
once, Zaccheus was too small, Paul was too religious, Timothy had an
ulcer...
AND, Lazarus was dead!!
No more excuses now!! God can use us to our full potential. Besides we
aren't the message, we are just the messenger.
'So, let your LIGHT SHINE...' Matt 5:16

Random Rambling
* To hear Obama say "as a man of faith" within the same breath as stating stem-cell research should go on AMAZES ME!
* Nash said this morning we should sell Cage...and he was serious
* I just ordered a new camera and I'm super excited to learn how to use it! Two weeks is a long time to wait and I feel like a kid waiting on Christmas!
* I miss my quiet time with God
* Why do people call themselves "spiritual" instead of "religious"? I saw a nasty list explaining the differences but all I got out of it is "spiritual" people want to blatantly sin and live as they wish without any consequences.
* Facebook is addicting
* Yes, our Real Estate market is still strong right now, QUIT ASKING ME!!
* Why do people that abuse and neglect children seem to be the most fertile?
* Do you think God regrets promising not to flood us again?
* Nash wanted to know if there's really a pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow. I laughed and he looked at me strangely. I ALMOST said "no, that's like the Easter Bunny, it's not real", but stopped myself. He knows why a Rainbow's there (God's promise), but thought the gold was included. I think I ended up changing the subject.
* Nash is asking me questions I can't answer! Where's that line where you tell them what they want to hear, and giving them too much info?
* That's it for now, I've been slacking here and have lots on my mind so I thought I'd come drop a couple things off!
