My Paternal Grandmother just turned 95 on Sunday. To say this women is amazing is a gross understatement. She has had to endure countless tests of faith and still praises God everyday. When I was 3 my Grandfather passed away, leaving my Grandmother a widow by the age of 65. They had three children, my Uncle Fred, Aunt Ruth and my father William. One by one a horrible disease became present in all three of her children leaving them incompasitated and unaware of their loved ones. To watch one child die of this horrible disease is bad enough, but to learn of the second one showing signs and then the last must have been unbearable. Through these years of pain I never heard her complain, ask why me or cease to have faith in her maker. I know God is the only reason she's been able to carry on and to see her faith and will to move forward encourages me every day. Included in these events are two battles with colon cancer, the death of her best friend and now her younger closest sister is battling the same disease her children passed away from. She is such an inspiration to me of what a Christian should be. She reminds me of the song by Casting Crowns, "Praise you in this storm", so here for your viewing enjoyment is the video.
